Think outside the “Botox Box”:

When it comes to Botox, most people think of its use in reducing lines on the forehead or  “crow’s feet” around the eyes. However, according to Natalie Ray, owner of Aesthetics Concierge of Texas, there are many uses for Botox of which the public is not aware. In other words, it is time to think outside the “Botox Box.”

For example, those who suffer from TMJ (temporomandibular joint) pain, or who simply want to avoid clenching their jaw or grinding their teeth, can benefit from Botox. By injecting Botox into that masseter and temporalis muscles, patients can not only avoid the problems above, but also achieve a slimmer lower face and jawline.

“As we age, the volume in our upper face gradually diminishes,” says Ray. “If the jaw muscles protrude too much, it looks disproportional to the upper face. My patients have been extremely satisfied with the results Botox has delivered.”

If tension headaches and migraines are an issue, Botox can decrease these episodes as well. Periodic injections can prove life-changing for those who suffer from the intense pain these events create.

“There is nothing more debilitating than a migraine headache. They make it nearly impossible to function,” says Ray. “Botox has been a game changer for a number of my patients, allowing them to recapture valuable time better spent on their families, friends, careers or hobbies.”

Loose skin on the neck, or “turkey neck” as it is called, can also be treated with Botox. By injecting Botox into the platysma bands in the neck, one’s appearance can be dramatically improved without the expense of surgery.

“It is frustrating to have a relatively young-looking face, but be betrayed by a sagging neck,” says Ray. “Our necks are an extension of our faces and must receive the same TLC in order to achieve a consistent, aesthetic look.”

In Texas, anyone can sweat in the heat of summer. However, if you suffer from excessive sweating under your arms or on your hands or feet on a regular basis, Botox can temporarily reduce or eliminate this uncomfortable and embarrassing issue.

“Most people don’t mind sweating at the gym. However, it’s another thing to sweat in an important meeting or on a romantic date,” says Ray. “With Botox, my patients never have to worry about unintentional sweating.”

Last but certainly not least, Microtox, which is the injection of diluted Botox just under the skin’s surface using micro needles, improves both skin texture and skin tightening. Using diluted Botox can have a relaxing effect on the skin, which appears completely natural.

“When people think about Botox, they tend to think of its effect when administered at full strength,” says Ray.  “But as with many injections, varying effects can be achieved through dosage or dilution.”

In short, Ray recommends that her patients become educated on both the aesthetic and medical uses of Botox. When her patients “Think Outside the Botox Box” they can often achieve aesthetic and medical goals simultaneously.
